TRANSFER STUDENTS ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

Applications from students already enrolled in other medical schools are accepted for transfer into both the Basic Sciences and Clinical Medicine Programs. Transfer students follow the same admissions protocols as any other applicant.

Transfer into the Basic Sciences Program:
Transfer credit for courses taken as a matriculated student at another medical school may be awarded, at the discretion of the Dean or his/her designee, according to the following guidelines:

  1. The medical school where the courses were taken must be ECFMG-approved and W.H.O.- listed.

  2. The course was completed in its entirety. Transfer credit will not be given for a course if only the first part of a two-part course was completed.

  3. A passing grade was earned in the course.

Transfer into the Clinical Medicine Program:
Transfer into the Clinical Medicine Program: Transfer credit for Clinical Rotations taken as a matriculated student at another medical school may be awarded according to the following guidelines:

  1. The medical school where the courses were taken must be ECFMG-approved and W.H.O. listed.

  2. The rotation was completed in its entirety.

  3. A passing grade was earned for the rotation and reflected on an official transcript.

Students seeking to transfer into the Clinical Medicine program after having completed Basic Sciences requirements at another medical school must pass the USMLE Step I prior to starting their clinical rotations.
